EDITION #4 – How do we care for each other?

Published – 24th April 2019

“Congratulations on joining the profession and welcome to the wonderful world of teaching. While it’s exciting to begin a new chapter, a new job can be daunting. There’s new information to absorb, new colleagues to get to know and new classroom environments to navigate. Thankfully, a range of support is on offer, from your employer, your school leaders, your colleagues, or organisations like Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).” Edmund Mission, Acting CEO, AITSL

AITSL is here for the teachers of today and the teachers of tomorrow – providing national guidance on quality teaching and school leadership. We work with and for teachers to develop resources and tools to support educators. There are plenty offered on our website, including for graduate teachers like you.

AITSL’s free My Induction App may be of interest. It assists graduate teachers, bringing together resources and activities to support your practice and track your growth and wellbeing.

Learn more about our resources for early career teachers, including the App, here:

AITSL, working with the profession and education stakeholders, has developed the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. You will need to demonstrate your proficiency and understanding of these to progress through your career. The standards are easily accessible and explained on our website.
